Wooden MP3 player for children with 12 selectable songs/playlists and LED-backlit speakers.
The wooden box is cut with a lasercutter and uses the living hinge technique for the rounded corners on both sides. The interior holding the electronics is also completely made from wood, even the holders for the switches behind the buttons.
The electronics are an Arduino Mega and an Adafruit Music Maker MP3 Shield with a 3W stereo amplifier. The music is stored on an SD card that can be replaced using the rear access bay. The Software is also updatable. Power is provided by a 6000 mAh power bank.
Designed in OpenSCAD. Shown is a 3D rendering.
