This thing replaces the two belt clamps on the Prusa v2 X-carriage with a unibody clamp with a tab for mounting a 40mm fan and duct.

Included in the files are the mount and duct STL files, and the OpenSCAD source file that generated them. If your printer needs a different size for these parts, edit fan-mount.scad and regenerate the STLs.

Using your favorite slicer, plate the STLs and generate the code for your printer.

Send that G-Code to your printer and print it like A Boss. Use SAE 4-40 or M3 screws to bolt everything together. See the pics.

i need that x carriage for budas you have de stl? thanks!

Hey friend, the x-carriage pictured here is Prusa's original carriage. It lacks dedicated fan mounts, and my fan duct and bracket replace the normal belt clamps one would normally use.

Prusa's original files are on github, at https://github.com/prusajr/PrusaMendel/

I also suggest looking at Greg Frost's improvements to Prusa's original designs, also on github: https://github.com/GregFrost/PrusaMendel

And, there are other designs here on thingiverse that are based on the above two designs.

All, I am a bit disappointed in this duct as it actually constrains the fan's flow too much. That is, the opening is too small and thus only allows about half the air to flow out. If anybody has a better shape to use other than my "that seems to fit" I'd appreciate a note.
On the other hand, the duct does work, but you'll need the fan to run at max speed to get enough flow.

Hi ThierryM, thanks for the comment. Good idea on that placement to raise it. On my printer, the nozzle hangs below the lower edge of the duct by 5mm or so.

Thanks for sharing.I made one but I fixed over the top of the belt clamps in order to raise the fan-duct (otherwise it was too low without the belt clamps of origin).
