I found I needed to [Explode] then [Orient Faces] to get Slic3r to work without errs.

Let me do some double checking and see what may have caused your issue

Hi! Cura does not slice the stl correctly for me, the hole in the center gets filled.. Imported it into Sketchup and reworked it a bit before it would slice ok..

Hi I think maybe 4 years ago slicers were a bit more tolerant of stl files. I can't even remember which software I used to make this Probably SketchUp ANyway I've uploaded a repaired version that doesn't have issues in Cura 2.5 or S3D V4.0.0 Hope that helps
