I love OpenSCAD's ability to respond to changes committed to a source file by an external editor.
I also love BBEdit (or TextWrangler if you're on a budget).
It seemed right and proper to create a codeless language module to improve the creative process.

2014-05-24 Updated for OpenSCAD 2014.03. Please notify me if you find bugs or missing features? Thanks.

Download the .plist file.
Install into ~/Library/Application Support/BBEdit/Language Modules (for BBEdit)
Install into ~/Library/Application Support/TextWrangler/Language Modules (for TextWrangler)
Restart BBEdit or TextWrangler.
Load your OpenSCAD code and get hacking, after setting your colour preferences, obviously!

Syntax colouring
Block collapse / expansion (via disclosure triangles in the margin)
Module and function access from a drop-down menu
Block selection (double click one curly brace to see the matching one and select the contents)
And more!

OK, I've updated the plist and submitted it to the OpenSCAD github repository as well. Let me know of any errors / omissions please?

Hi, I can't promise but I'll take a look. I've had to take a looooong hiatus from 3D printing but will download OpenSCAD and see what's needed.

Any chance of this getting updated for the 2014 version of OpenSCAD?

Works great. What a relief! Thanks so much for adding this to the community!

Thanks for reminding me I never shared my Textmate bundle. :) http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:15292http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

If you send it to Marius I am sure he will include it in the openscad distribution (like he did for the emacs mode I wrote)

Good idea, I'll make it so.

Oh. My. God. YES.

Thank you.

You're welcome! It was an itch I'd had for a while - nice to see it scratched yours too.
