Someone just sent me a link to this. Love the idea! What I'd like to do is put a Raspberry Pi in the 8080 case and a small LCD display in the monitor. I thought the coin was a coffee coaster to start with. I'm guessing (without downloading the files) that this is only a few centimetres wide. How would it scale? I'd want to put a 3.5" LCD in the monitor case and a Pi 3B+ in the 8080 case.

The machines themselves are around 2" wide (50mm), so you'd need to scale up quite a bit. Of course, you'd need to modify the shapes to accept the components (they are just bricks!) but it could be quite cute when you are done.

Shall we play a game?

I love it!

You're making me feel old. When I was looking for my first full-time job (in 1976) one of the places I applied was MITS -- the company that made the IMSAI 8080. During the interview, I saw one "in the flesh" for the first time. (Unfortunately I didn't get the job.) BTW, when it first hit the market, they figured it would be a success if they sold 50 in the first year: they sold more than 500 in the first two months.

...as if being old is a bad thing ;-) Great story!
