No problem!
The turret is the only thing that failed on my first attempt at printing these. I just ran it through Netfabb and it cleaned up a lot of the problems the PreForm (Formlabs' software) was displaying on that piece. Printing currently. Once I have a completed set, I'll post up in the "made" section.
Also, to be clear (especially for others reading), there is a downloadable Netfabb software that can be used as well. Basic and pro. I tend to use the online version as I just need to run a quick repair on things. if the repair fails, then i go in with another software and clean up the object by hand.
thanks kabniel,
i will check out netfabb today. the original comment was more a general disclaimer, as the part definitely printed for me.
i just didn't want to put the repaired makeprintable part up as it seems to make the file 5 times as large (???... check this now... original 161kb... fixed... 2Mb!! wow... not included)
Remember to come back and post what you've printed as Make.
It's good for the designer and the community (that means you)!
To post a Make, come back to this Thing and click Post a Make.
Or, you can use the Thingiverse Mobile app found on
Google Play
and the Apple App Store.
Looking forward to this.
Regarding the "broken" and "repair" business. Try running the STLs through Microsoft's online Netfabb service.
just did the netfabb thing on the turret.
brilliant, even smaller than the original file.
thanks for that tip kabniel !
