The charger of an electric bike has a high voltage and high current.
34V DC - 3,4A The cable has no sensor switch or safety pin that closes the 34V circuit only when a bike is connected. Could be done with an nice delay by means of a MOSFET. So that burn of the pins is also prevented.
HINT: this might be a GOOD idea overpaid R&D design departments around the world !!!!
The bike isn't mine, so I just made a safety cap to prevent another short circuit, as it did last time the cable made contact with a conduction material.
0,1 mm or 0,2 doesn't matter
Long term borrow a hair rubber band from a friend / spouse / family / foe.
Use a string to easily pull the rubber band through the holes and tie a knot when finished.
The rubber band will asure easy use of the thingie.
I used a caliper (learned a new word)...
DON'T USE CONDUCTING MATERIAL !!!
