I designed these word cubes for use in my kindergarten class to practice decoding CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words. Each word cube prints as one piece, with no assembly required, but allows the middle cube to spin freely. Each cube creates 16 different real and nonsense words, all decodable using basic phonics (i.e. all stops and no fricatives such as "soft" C or G in the initial slot).
Also included for download is a worksheet for students to record their words, and then write a sentence including at least one of the words recorded.
Note: Normally I wince when I see kindergarten activities using only uppercase letters, but since caps are what's available on Tinkercad by default, I went with it and just ask my kiddos to write in lower case when doing this activity.
