Short story behind this motor:
One day my brother sign himself for a thesis to develop new type of electric motor. Funny part is that he want to be a dentist and have no knowledge about electric stuff at all. Its quite challenge to do invention on something really old and proved like electric motor. But I was quite impressed about his ideas how inventive motor should work, i found some problems with the concept and after few talks we came up with this. We was not able to find similar type of motor on the market so we decided to make prototype. Please let me know in comments if this concept of motor is described somewhere.
Difference from conventional motor is that rotor of our motor goes directly through coil. It works like rounded coil gun, if you take end of the coil gun and connect it back to start point. Advantage is that rotor magnet is crossing directly center of coil where is the highest magnetic force from the coil created. Conventional motors just pass around the coil, problem with them is that coil is then winded in really small length to have center of coil close to magnet. Small length of coil means more layers = more length of magnet wire = less efficiency. So we think that our motor should be more efficient. We start with two pole motor and then made this four pole one I am sharing there, four pole have many advantages. Please read my instructables where i will try to explain all details and our thinking.
This motor have also disadvantage with the construction and complexity to build, i see big advantage to combine this motor with planetary gear, or in applications without output gear like gyro stabilization. 3D print technology really help us to bring this to live.
Two part wheels have to be glued together, redesign will improve functionality.
Optical gate to switch coils instead of mechanical switch.
Redesign wheel to output shafts, do planetary gear to one output shaft.
4x 10x15x4 bearing
Bunch of 12x2 neodymium magnets
M3 screws and nuts
Coated wire for windings (Magnet wire)
Print parts at amounts written in part name.
