for how big coin is it please?

A US Nickel diameter is .835 inches and its thickness is .077 inches.

Cool design. For a ball I just printed a 6mm sphere with .05mm layer height, which works perfect. On my Prusa MK3, no sanding or similar was needed an the ball and it took 10 minutes

can this model be hollow or will the mechanism break.

It can be low percentage fill.

Could I scale this up so it could use a 12mm steel ball?

What scale do you feel would work best? Thanks....

I don't know.

I just made it with you mold and hot glue. I'm going to pick up a steel ball at the hardware store tomorrow. Very nice print. My students are going to love it. Thanks

What size ball bearings are used.

8mm, 6mm and 4mm

iv made this in Australian $2 coin would u like the file or remix it ok with you

Definitely post it as a remix.

Can I use other kind of liquid glue?

I don't know I have only tried "hot glue". If I where to try something else I would start with epoxy since it will cure without exposure to air. Whatever you try be sure to use something as a mold release (I used silicone spray in the video). If you get something else to work I would be interested in hearing about it.

Would this work with a GBP 1p or 5p coin?

I think so. The hole for the coin in 22.8 mm in diameter and 3mm deep so as long as the coin is smaller than that it should work. From the Wikipedia pages for the 1p and 5p coins I think they should work. I also uploaded the SCAD file so you can modify the size of the cavity if needed.
