Print Thing TagSummary
This Hexacopter is based off of my Quadcopter designs.
(Which are based off of MikeyB's Quadcopter.)
Changes from the previous design include:
- 2 more arms, for a total of 6
- Longer arms,
- Better landing gears
- Overall redesigns for improved usability
The hexacopter was printed on an UltiMax DYI 3D printer because the arms do not fit on many printers, and I needed larger print bed.

Just added V2 files for stronger arms, and better camera mounting. Don't use original arms as the motor mountings could fail.

I am thinking about making this and attaching a small camera to it. Do you think that I would be able to attach a 12 gram camera without dramatically changing how well it flies?
love it, but i have to ask, do the crossfire2 legs fit on there? and if the mount is the same, you think there is still enough room for 10x4.5 rotors?
because yours a bit too long for my printer.. i only got a 20*20 bed
one last question, sorry to bother, any recommendations where i could fit in an Ardupilot?
hi can you split up the legs so I can load just one, my pc is too slow to do all at once
In the photos there seems to be a piece that covers the transmitter and keeps the antenna up. Is this file missing from the downloads section? I'd love to use it as I have the same transmitter. Thanks!
Sorry for the late response, I've been busy with school stuff. I have the antenna "collar" file listed on my quadcopter design.

What materials and temps did you use for the various 3D printed parts? Can't wait to build. I've modded you bottom plate to carry my GoPro.
I have the same problem as pklopping. I'm using upgraded motors with a different mount pattern...and I use autodesk. Perhaps you could create a version of the hex arms with a solid end mount plate. Then we can drill our own vent and motor holes. Not perfect, but easier than making a new version for every motor. Thanks for considering!
Hey! This is awesome!
Sadly I need to adjust the motor mount holes before I can use it.
Could you please provide the part files in a format that I can use with 123D Design?
Hey, I'm glad that you like my design.
Unfortunately the modeling software I use, Alibre PE, only exports STL files.

Sorry.
