Sliding Card Wallet
Swag in style with the subtle Hylian accent brandishing your wallet. This wallet features two slots that can comfortably hold 4* of your dearest cards close to you. You can easily select your card with one hand by rotating and sliding. Features one easy open slot for quick access, and one tighter slot to keep your cards from sliding into the wrong hands.
Inspired by a wonderful design, I made this with openSCAD, so you can easily modify it to fit your likings.
*Depending on your print settings
I've been using dadhoc's Another Slim Wallet with MetroCard Slot for just over a year, and it's been great. My cards loved it, and it relaxed over the months. The old cards were replaced with new ones, and the new cards started viewing the wallet as more of a prison. The pressures of life and my pocket started to take their toll on the little PLA child, and things started creaking. Due to poor layer bonding, the 'bars' of 'the cage' cracked, and later snapped away. A new design was needed.
Used a 0.5 nozzle. If you don't have success printing 1mm walls, I would recommend changing the wall thickness to a multiple of your nozzle size. I printed using a brim, because I don't want any of that spaghetti business.
Depending on your print settings, you may want to scrape away some of the plastic at the bottom slot before putting any cards in there. I used an exacto knife to get the rest of the brim away from the slot.
Why have three slots when you can have one! I added the "Bubble" windows first, keeping them lined up with the slot. Due to printer settings, my first print had poor bridging, making the 'bubbles' look a little rough. I decided to fix this by putting in diagonally rotated squares. The squares looked okay, but not quite right. After a little tweaking, I had a rupee design. Download the SCAD file and have a look for yourself!
