Wish I knew what size my ruler is, but I need a ruler to measure my ruler so I can see if my ruler fits in my calipers that measure things. :P

Wish I had thought of this!

Cura and TinkerCad, also assumed the files were saved in mm.
But they were really saved in inches.
To fix this, for each .stl file, I:

  1. Downloaded the file to my computer from Thingivers
  2. In TinkerCad, I imported the .stl file with Scale = 2500 (%)
    ( recall there are 25mm per 1inch)
  3. I exported the re-scaled object, overwriting the original .stl file
  4. I printed the re-scaled .stl file using Cura, as usual

Better 2540% (can be done directly in Slic3r). Thanks for noting:)

tried that, still does not fit a draper (or other) metal ruler, too small catch 22 is I need a caliper to measure the ruler to print a caliper!!
using cura 3.6 to slice

the gap for the ruler is 23mm approx but a ruler is 30mm wide and the ridge it is meant to side in is too small at 1mm where the ruler is 2mm and how the heck does it fit together as the non sliding part does not fit to anything.

When I open in slicer it's in inches and the slicer only does mm, is there any way you can change this?
Great thing though!!
Thanks

What size ruler does it take?

Really good idea! Going to try this right away

Brilliant [if it works], going to print and test this.

Very nice and simple idea, god job. tnxs for share it.

Super idea. Still some tweaks possible (thanks for the file) but so little time ...
