I added threads for a M10-1.5 set screw to the ends of the M8 rod inserts. The threaded portion goes down 15 mm from the right axis The 8mm smooth rod is clear into this portion.
The purpose of this is to take force off of the z-axis rods (causing them to bow) when a x-axis belt tensioner is used. The set screws can be pushed against the x-axis smooth rods to use the x-axis smooth rods relieve this tension rather then the z-axis.
The x-axis idler end is : EjeX_derecha with M10 Threads Joined.STL from Prusa i3 Hephestos by bqLabs that this thing derives from.
For a full x-axis:
If you are looking for the a x-axis motor mount: download EjeX_izquierda.stl from Thing# 371842.
Thing # 1118272 for the x-axis idler tensioner. This needs to be in nylon for strength.
Thing # 1133926 for the x-axis carriage.
Files were modified in Solidworks 2015 SP 5.
I think the .scad files for EjeX_derecha are in the thingverse post but I haven't found them.
I took the easy approach and just cut the threads into the stl file in solidworks. Maybe I'll go back and try to m
