This is a holder for a 7 mm 3.5MM Android Phone Endoscope (as this from ebay http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2057872.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.TRS0&_nkw=7mm+3.5M+Android+Phone+Endoscope&_sacat=0 ).

I made it for the Prusa i3 MK2 as it is very difficult to see the first layers. It is mounted on the hotend fan wiht original screws. It is a very tight fit, but I have still given it a bit of electrical tape to be sure that the camera does not move.

Hey, great design. Would you happen to know if one could connect this endoscope cam to a rasp pi 3?

I've tried tried octoprint but without success.

7mm ebay/gearbest endoscope working here!
Login to pi via ssh then:
cd /root/bin
sudo nano webcamd

This opens the command line text editor. Use UpDownLeftRight and backspace buttons to change default values to :
-r VGA -y
And change the line near bottom to: 1908:2311

sudo reboot

The endoscope I got does work with Raspbian/Octoprint. Instructions are on the Octoprint github page: https://github.com/foosel/OctoPrint/wiki/Webcams-known-to-work Generic Endoscope Amazon is what worked for me.

Hi there,

could you tell me the name of the app you´re using ? (or the program when running on the pc).

I got a similar endoscope camera off of amazon for cheap - but i don´t trust this chinese website for an apk download.

cheers, richard

I just use it as a webcam on the pc

This is a great idea and will help with calibrating fine prints. Much appreciated, friend. I'll let you know how setup goes.

Is the camera resolution an issue? One of the main calibration issues I deal with is blobs and zits and would love to get a clearer picture of when the blobs and zits start. Would the camera resolution be high enough to identify this?

Thank you, look forward to hearing how it goes :)

You can see the quality of the camera in the video under post-print.

I know you said that the endoscope is for Android, but does it just connect to a computer as well?

Yes the one I bought came with an adapter piece for the computer :)

Great print, I am waiting for my endoscope to arrive to test this :) The two screws holding the attachment, what kind are they? I assume you replaced the original ones that held the fan since they would be too short.

Sounds good, looking forward to hearing what you think once it's up and running :)
But I've actually just used the same bolts without problems
