Post-Printing

you will need:

  • 4 M4 tapered screws 10-20mm
  • 8 M4 screws 14-20mm
  • 2 M4 wingnuts with a screw or wingscrews

insert screws like in the first picture and mount the clamp to a speaker tripod and the other side to a flatscreen. I have no idea what weight can be mounted, but according to VESA standards you cannot exceed 15kg.

What's the trick to printing this so the hinge doesn't stick together?

I'd use low temperatures, high ventilation and a strong screwdriver to pull the hinge apart. If you really can't get it done, print the 2 parts separate, but resist the urge to rotate them. The way it is oriented now makes the strongest part.

Hey, separate from the Vive, this is a great model. Vesa-to-pole is a very useful bracket to have.

I have no idea how to do this but making it customizable (vesa size and pole size) would get a lot of attention I'm sure.

Thanks Sharky. I'm very fond of this model too. Unfortunately making a model customizable would mean remodeling it completely.
The model consists of separate pieces though, so making a clamp for a few different pole sizes would be easy.
I wouldn't recommend making different Vesa sizes though. A size stands for a max weight and the size I made (VESA MIS-D) is rated for up to 14 kg and that's about the max I would hang on a 3D printed clamp. Bigger televisions would also start to slide down without any rubber inserts.
Thanks for the compliment though! I think I'll make a few different pole-sizes if I see demand for that.
