The customizer failed with the same error as seen by the other users in this thread.
I liked the design, so I ended up redrawing it under fusion 360 for the iPhone 7+.
I can post the .stl for that phone if anybody is interested.

Hi, i would be interested in the .stl if you would be able to share it, thanks

iPhone 7 plus car holder

anyone know how long the customizablre file should take to create? I am getting a warning at the bottom of the customizer page:

/usr/local/bin/openscad/openscad: error while loading shared libraries: libCGAL.so.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Part of me thinks that means that the code is no longer supporting customization based on a library file that no longer exists. any help? Thanks!

More people have this problem now and not just with this customizable file. Seems like something MakerBot should fix ? See also https://www.thingiverse.com/groups/thingiverse/forums/site-issues-and-feedback/topic:26898

How would I print this for an Iphone 8 plus?

Use the "open in customizer" button and enter the dimensions of your phone. Then download the model.

Any way to get a negative clamp rotation value? I need to enter a -15 value. Thanks!

I will take a look at this and I will make changes to the code if this is easy to do. I'll let you know when it's done.

Excellent! Thank you so much. Great design!

No problem! it should work now. Thanks for your feedback!

Most appreciated. Worked perfectly! Off to print it.

Hello again. Moved on to an iPhone X and would like to print a new bracket, but in customizer I receive this error: "/usr/local/bin/openscad/openscad: error while loading shared libraries: libCGAL.so.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Is this thing still customizable and available? Thanks again!

Seems like more people have this error and also with other customizable things. MakerBot should fix this. See also https://www.thingiverse.com/groups/thingiverse/forums/site-issues-and-feedback/topic:26898

Thank you so much for the reply. I wasn't aware this was an ongoing issue with MakerBot. I followed the linked video in your shared link and was able to create a customized bracket. Thanks much!

Hi,
Thanks for your work.

But ... I have 1 question how di you manage the vent slider in your VW ? In my case (Golf7) the slider on the ventilation grid gene on the back of my smartphone

I just placed it right next to the slider. It's still there :-)

Thanks you;
Perfect for my Nomu S30

Hi there!

Good thing!
How can I make it rotated by 90 deg? I want my phone stands vertical. Maximum rotation I've found is 70 deg.

Hi! You can not rotate it more then 70 because otherwise your printer would not be able to print it (to much overhangs). If you want it vertical, enter the length of your phone instead of the width, and leave the clamp normal. Hope this helps!

Hello.. I like your design.. I have an idea to make a rachet down design to give snug fit to different size cell phone without having to know exact dimension of the phone and making it usable with different phones.

Hi there! thanks for the compliment! If you want you can share you're idea, i would certainly take a look at it.

I myself went through a lot of different ideas and prototypes before i settled on this one. Some of my ideas used sliders, others screws, some used some kind of lever system. I eventually chose for the customizable design because it keeps things simple and minimalistic and because it simply worked better then my other designs.

i will.. i am kind of new to 3d printing. i have only had a printer for a few days so far.. The concern i have had is printing bracket with snug fit and not too small. How long have u been 3d printing/designing?

I have my printer since december last year, so I'm also still new to this (definitely not an expert).

I would just print out a holder and if it is to snug than just print out another one with a slightly bigger dimension. For my printer, I need to add around 0.3 mm to have a nice fit (so if my smartphone is for example 70mm wide, then I enter 70.3 mm in customizer). Maybe for your printer it's different... You will have to test it :-)

i am not sure about that.. which kind of printer do you use? Here is my first thing i created.. it is a holder for 3 micro SD chips.. it is small and sturdy for being kept in wallet. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1748452

3 Micro SD (& Micro SIM) chip holder (MOST POPULAR!)

Hi there!

It's a nice design. Simple and functional!

I made a customizable version of this (there is still a link to your original design though). see http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1751792 I wanted to show you what you can do in customizer :-) Because these types of things are ideal for it in my opinion. I also added a label and rounded the edges because they might be a little sharp when carrying around.

I am using an ultimaker by the way. If you have any further questions please send me a private message :-)

customizable SD card holder (micro, mini and standard)

That's awesome. Thanks for doing that. I would like to know more about making customizable 3d things. I think you are right. This is perfect for making custom size quantity.. and personizing with text labeling. What did you use to create the scad file?

It is hard to fit the micro sd chips because they are 11mm on bottom and 12mm on top.. so i just use 12 mm to give a 12mmx15mmx1mm box to put the chips in. The standard sd chips do not have that irregularity of width.. they just have notch cut out in bottom corner.. I can make 32mmx24mmx1.5(or2mm) slot for those in.. i printed you cusomizer.. i think you might have the width of the micro SD off 1mm to narrow.

which version of Ultimaker you have?
