PauloAmaral's scan of the Mayan calender inspired me to do a cleaned up model. I took an image into Zbrush and used it as an alpha to create this STL. I simplified it down to 100k polygons. This is still a work in progress- I am trying to find the optimal scale to read the detail- so far the prints are too noisy to really see what is going on. Printing vertically might help- I'm going to try a version on a square background- the texture the filament lays down in a flat position might be the cause of the detail loss.
