PLABS is the first functional 3D printed stool for your home or office. It combines passion for interior design with new technology to create something unique. PLABS is not just a prototype, but a complete, functional stool that can be used both in your office and home.
It's the latest project of the Sharebot 3D Project division, which is dedicated to find new application for professional 3D printing. Further information about PLABS can be found on the link below.
Sharebot 42, Sharebot Q, Sharebot XXL
PLABS combines the use of different 3D printers. Because of parts size and used material, each component was printed with a different Sharebot 3D printer.
Legs: Sharebot XXL
Keystone: Sharebot 42
Seat: Sharebot Q
PLABS shows the possibility provided by 3D printing for interior design application. Depending on the materials you'll use, the technology allows to create the final object, not just prototypes.
As you can see in the attached page, each component was printed many times and modified to obtain the best printing results, which could provide for the maximum stool stability and resistance. This process could be seen on the seat: we start printing it in moduli, but we saw a stability problem when assembled: because of that we deceide to print it in one piece, using Sharebot Q, increasing the infill to have it stronger. The result was (and still is) incredible!
