Anet A8

This part is the same width as the extruder carriage (62 mm), is (14.5 mm thick)
it fits snugly in the space available inbetween the bearings (20 mm high).
Mounting holes are 4x5 mm elliptical to have a little room for movement.
2 top holes - 53mm apart, 2 bottom holes - 40mm apart, screw onto the carriage with 18mm M3 bolts. The 6 mm belt just slides in the (10mm x1mm wide) groove and needs no further fastening.

How I Designed This

designed specially for my chinese anet a8 PRUSA i3 with an acryllic 8mm frame, wich came to me with no recognisable belt connector in the box, so after some time with an improvised setup i designed a one that does the job a lot better. A litte room for movement with the screws in eliptical holes for mounting it.

The fiber glass reinforced belt is slightly thinner than the stock belt. Was this designed to fit that one as well?

the space for the belt was designed as a 1mm wide slot with 1mm teeth. A standard A8 belt fits quite tight in the slot and with it's 6mm width has enough "grip" to stay in its place. A fiberglass belt if it is not a lot thinner should fit as well. Else if its too loose you could alway try to slde it in with a filler material like a sheet paper or plastic maybe.

Works like a charm. Everything fits perfectly.
The only thing that did fail was a 1.5mm slot in the middle of the piece where those two faces touch.
You could improve that by making them touch on the sides, not on the edge.

this file is corrupted ! ! ! !
Sjouke the file isn"t the same than your photo
Fix it and I'll delete this com

You must be doing something wrong my dear fellow. The file is as it was, no corruption when i looked it over. You can leave your comments and look stupid.
Sofar 650+ people downloaded it without threatening me. As the chineese say : "Have a nice day"

I'm not english so it's not easy to explain, but your file has a deformation, your design is too large, screw holes are not round and they don't matches with others files!
Threatening ??? where???
People download and some print it, 1% will come back to tell you if this file is corrupted, the 99 other purcent just look to an other file
On your pictures all is ok, but download it and look at, the thingiview show the bad
I let my comment because everyone does not have time to lose with a corrupted file

The measurements of the object are given. IF YOUR PRINTER is ok it will then print exact like stated. Screwholes are not round by design to correct for imperfections so there is a little room for movement when putting it together (is mentioned in description). The description i give of the file is quite elaborated so anyone can read and deside if the file is right for them..
The remark FIX IT and i'll delete this com is not too friendly for something you can get for free my french little friend. (sounds a little threatening to me)

In the ANET facebookgroup ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/1068531466501015/ ) you can literally find a couple of hundred people that downloaded and printed this file to their full satisfaction.

O yes, i',m not english too, Je nez parley Francais, En Do kinst gjin Frysk ferstean. Und deutsch mache ich night so gerne.

Prettige dag verder.

The belt notches were too small in thickness for my Anet A8. Ended up printing from another model. Will keep this one as a spare and file it down when need for it arrives. I wonder if they supplied different materials with printers based on when you bought one. I've seen some modular connectors (molex type ?) on the stepper motors (at the motor end) that are being included with some of the units being sold lately.

doesn't fit. screw hols don't line up and the top rubs on the other side of the belt.

I see it doesn't fit mine either, after I removed the belt, the entire extruder, & a linear bearing... Now to put it all back together & print a different one. This game is odd.

maybe your beltwheels and or carriage are of different dimensions than mine, see the photo, it is a perfect fit for mine.

Sorry if I sounded like a D&@$. Was tired and frustrated. That's quite possible. I made http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1433295 and it fits my model printer.
