Being a little silly here but how did you join the belt together so the join can go around the pulleys ? Thanks

You can buy closed loop belts in various lengths. I think this is the one I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018HKHE6W/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've tried to make closed loop belts, but have not had much success.

how long of a belt would I need to use your newer design on a 300x200 layout?

How big is your Buildplate on the first picture?

I have a 400x400 buildplate and i am serching for the right belt.

The first picture (with the single belt) is a 300x300 build plate. The other pics with dual belts are a 300x200 plate.

Mine was one of the earliest of these designs. There are others that are more refined you might want to look at. In any case, you should be able to do a 400x400 plate with a 1360mm belt with a little modification.

Thanks for your response. Do i need to adjust the steps in the Firmware?

That depends on the what pulleys you use. If you follow my design, with a 20T on the motor and 40T on the lead screws, double the z steps in firmware. Some people have used 60T on the lead screws, in which case you would triple the steps.

Hi There,

Working on this setup for my dbot. Could you clarify the lock collar set up for the D_608 Adapter. I am not sure what to purchase for this. Thank you.

what exactly are the 3mm nut holders for? I don't quite understand the description.

Sorry for the confusion. I've had two different configurations on my d-bot and the parts for both are here. The ramps cover piece and the 3mm holders are obsolete. The extended bracket is not needed either for my current setup. I'm hoping to redesign this system into something that looks more professional. The current configuration does keep the bed absolutely rock steady, though.
When I have time I will edit the description to better explain everything.

Nice work ..

Please forgive my newbie ignorance - but how are you holding the lead screw in the 608zz bearing?
From some photos - it appears that you may have a 'lock collar' under the 40t pulley - but I can't tell.

Can you add some close-up pics of the pulley/lead screw mount and maybe describe a bit more how you did that?

thanks.

Yes, the leadscrew is sitting on a lock collar, which is resting on the bearing. I would really like to come up with a way to hold the bearing and leadscrew in place better. There's no problem during normal operation, but if, for some reason, the bed tries to lower below it's max limit, it can pull the leadscrew or bearing out of the holder. Doesn't happen often, but it has happened a couple of times. I'm going to add a z-max endstop to prevent it from happening at all. I've added a picture showing the detail.

Thanks! That helps a lot.

Hi, how long is closed loop gt2 belt at the first photo?

tnx i am going to make exactly the same remix but with 60t gears , i think it is the best modification for bed stability for 300x300

Thanks. Works well for me.

i am planing to make a d bot. did you have any specific issues with bed and added a 3rd lead screw? for sure is mechanically better but does it make a difference? i seen you tried a 4 screws configuration

I didn't like the way the bed can rock with just two screws. Also, two stepper motors can get out of sync, and that happened to me a couple of times. The three screws with one motor eliminates those problems. I did not try four screws. Three are working fine for me.
