Now you can eat the Pokemons when you have caught them...

The outer edge cuts, and the inner details leaves an imprint in the dough.

  • Picachu
  • Mewto
  • Blastoise
  • Bulbasar
  • Charmander
  • Squirtle

  • Height: 10 mm
  • Imprint height: 7 mm

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

0,25 mm

Use PLA since it's rated as food safe, plus it won't warp.

The cutters varies in size but I've found that min. 14-15 cm in Y direction gives a good result. At that size the internal details prints nicely.
Scale them in your slicer.

The outer walls and bottom are 1,5 mm thick to give the cutter some rigidity. When slicing the model, scale z independently so that the mold becomes 10 mm high. This is to maintain the proper cutting depth and bottomplate thickness.

DO NOT put in dishwasher since the plastic is likely to deform from the heat. Only clean with warm water and dish soap.

Edge cleanup

There could be some minor stringing between walls. Cut/ peel off with a small sharp knife.

How I Designed This

To create these, I used coloring book motifs that I converted into vector format. For this I used the free software Incscape but any vector graphics program works fine.
Google "character name coloring pages" to find suitable pictures to work with.

  1. Save the picture you want and import it into Incscape.
  2. In incscape, create a bitmap copy of the object.
  3. Trace the lines of the bitmap. Use threshold 0,0 to get thicker lines. Simpler pictures works best, you don't want crazy amouts of detail since the 3D printer most likely will not be able to print it properly anyway. Some cleanup of the picture might be required to get it right for 3D printing. Make sure the outer edge is solid.
  4. Save as DXF or SVG format. This might depend on wich CAD-program you're using.
  5. Open the file in your CAD-program. Add the picture to a sketch and create your cookie cutter. Experiment to find what's working best for your setup.

hey is there any way these files can be scaled to make an 6cm or so cookie?

any possibility you can upload the source (inkscape) files?, i want to scale down the models but doing so in the stl makes it lose details

Incscape files are uploaded!

By any chance do you have charmander and squirtle?

Not at the moment, but I can probably make something. I have seen suitable pictures that I can use.
I might have something ready by the end of the week.
