Open source art. Waste Not Want Not. Send me your rafts! My newest "connector" piece. Not for ther raftless purists nor the supportless supporters ;) With the advent of Makerware 2.3 so came a plethora of fine rafts - rather than throw them away (or wait for a working recycling machine) I kept them with a view to eventually making a series of connectors that in turn could be pressed into service to make new sculpture - this is total art. ^_^
So i drew the shape in Rhino - i guess i could have done it in 123d Design - hmmmm... but then i modded it in Tinkercad, so here's a link to the Tinkercad page: https://tinkercad.com/things/7WFFIV8Cxps-3d-printing-raft-connectors
It seems like the tolerance on the jaws is not quite there, so of the rafts we seated tight, others pretty loose, so i think i am going to tweak it down to like 1.3mm from the 1.46mm it is at now - hence this being a work in progress.
