3D printable kazoo instrument, just add wax paper!

Just print, assemble the parts, add wax paper, and you're ready to hum.

For full kazoo in 1 print use the Kazoo_All.STL file & make sure to use exterior support, for the valve to print properly.

Each part is also available in a separate file, only the valve needs support, the cap and body are fine to print without.

To play;
• Insert the valve into the main body
• Cut a small piece of wax paper (about 1" square) & place it on top of the valve
• Gently push the cap over the wax paper and onto the valve
• For best sound, hum into the larger end
• Enjoy!

Object height: 119mm
STP and STL formats available.

So, it doesn't work. When I blow through it it just sounds like I'm blowing through a tube. There's no kazoo sound at all. I have the valve stuck into the body, then a piece of wax paper on top of it, then the cap on that, and it's all snapped snugly together. What am I doing wrong?

Hey CarterGoff

This is a common misconception with the kazoo! Kazoos won't work by blowing into them - you'll actually have to hum into it (the larger end is the side you hum into)

Check out this quick video which explains; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfJkAazFjLY

I just printed this and I tried humming and basically everying and it sounds no different than just humming without it. Help? I wanna sound like kazoo kid not an idiot vibrating a piece of plastic that doesnt work.

Make sure that the wax paper is taught and forms a seal when the cap is on - if it is loose or has gaps around the edges it won't work properly.

If the wax paper is cut too small it could shift a little when you place the cap on, which would prevent a seal from being formed. Make sure the wax paper you start with is large enough and is taught when the kazoo cap is assembled and it should work properly. Hope this helps!

I used foil, not wax paper, is it legal?

Are there holes in the foil? Also, I would not want to breathe in PLA fumes as it melts.

The valve needs to be printed with a brim.

Darn, I just bought one... Next one will be printed :-) Thanks for the model.
