Did you use the original screws to attach the adapter to the mount? what size screws did you use to attach the 40mm fan to the adapter?

Excellent, I like the simplicity. There are a lot of full blown cooling shrouds out there - this looks like it does the job! Printing now

Update: Printed! First thing I've noticed is that part of the air is coming back out the back of the fan, this means the pressure (resistance) of the cone is too high for the fan I chose. However, more than enough air is passing through and the printer is very, very silent with this replacement 40 mm fan.

Great stuff!

Would adding a rubber gasket where the adapter contacts the extruder and where the fan contacts the adapter help?

I printed one.

There is a hole (gap) where the second square rises from the circle, and one of the holes is way off. It works but it needs some fine tuning.

Yeah my buddy who I made it for reported the same thing, will have a 2nd version up tonight. Thanks!

I am using it to couple a 40mm fan wired into my I3 2020 machine to an E3d so I don't have to change the wiring, it works really good as is.

Thank you for making it!

Thanks for the thanks :)

I have uploaded a fixed version, too.

Will it work on printers that still have their screen protectors on?

Are you kidding? It works best on printers that still have their screen protectors on!

I'm uploading a modified version that will remove that infernal protector as it prints.
