Nice little box and lid. Works well and is a good size to work with

However, it doesn't fit on the new generation R1's coming out of Robo3D. There is not enough space between the linear bearing housing and the extruder shroud. I have mine jammed onto the linear bearing at the moment, but I know it's not going to survive very long.

Also, for the help of others, I used 3, white LED's and a 880 ohm resistor all in series and powered it directly off the 12V line of the power supply.

Thanks for sharing.

Just some feedback on longevity of the part... after 3 months of near constant use of the printer, today the LED holder fell off. One of the two arms had bent... looks like from heat due to proximity next to the hotend. I took a lighter, heated up the arm briefly, bent it back, and clipped it back on. Seems to be holding great again. If you ever redesign the part tho, you may want to consider:
1) Make the arms thicker
2) Make the top of the clips a bit longer (in towards center) so there is more "clip" to the arms for holding in on and in place.

Admitantly, I didn't use double sided stick tape to adhere it to the front of the carriage. If I had, it likely would have stayed further from the hotend and not bent over time. Otherwise, the part has been working FABULOUSLY and while I'd like to have a little more illumination inside the shell, I still am thrilled to have it as part of my Robo. Thanks for the AWESOME design. :D
