nice job. I wonder if a bi-metallic strip could add temperature compensation. Is there a simpler way ?

Good idea. As the strip moves down the bi-metal could move it up to compensate. Or maybe just a gas that doesn't expand with temp.

looks like a good build. as far as the jar and the multi million u can choose from would a small mason canning jar work or is there one that works best.this will be a fun project for my little girl and maybe one for her class room as well.

Every jar should work the same. It should be between 200cl and 400cl. If it has a higher capacity, the needle moves more at the same pressure difference and maybe you will reach the end of the scale with only small variations. On the other hand, if you choose a very small jar, the movement of the needle could be insignificant.
