This is a remix of the HICTOP Prusa i3 Cable Chain mounts. After doing the install on the x-axis, I discovered that the cable chain would rub the left x-axis threaded rod whenever the carriage moved to the left. This rubbing would cause the carriage to shake, and distort my prints.
My solution is to create new offset mounts that are set back about a centimeter on both the carriage and the motor. The clearance created by the offset is perfect for the Anet A8, and works smoothly.
Note: I guilt the carriage mount vertically in OpenSCAD, but you should rotate it 90 degress, and then use supports when you print it.
For the x-axis motor mount, you'll need an M2 screw at least 20mm long.
For the carriage mount, you'll need to remove two screws at the top of the carriage that are next to each other. The carriage mount can then be screwed into position using the two holes in the carriage and bearing. You may need longer screws to accomplish this.
To make a cable chain of an appropriate length, you'll need to print at least 30 links between the mounts.
