First it started as a challenge with a colleague cause we got some cheap deskstand giveaways which were made out of something really stiff which lead to breaking quite easily. This lead to the design above - you could guess I like circles very much.
Any idea on not-straight feet ?
Feel free to use it, make it, redo it.
UPDATE: The holes in the bars on the slim were a little bit to shallow so I made them wider on 3 sides by like 0,5 mm - testprint came out with a real good fit. Files have been updated to current version. The holes for the feet are tricky - I´ve used the purple filament again and they were too loose. So i would suggest to adjust this to your material. OR use glue like I did. ;-)
NEWS: I´ve made longer bars (140 mm to be exact) to have a landscape oriented smartphone stand. On my Z3 they are just on the edge outside the screen - will do a testprint tomorrow and get back to you. Maybe I should use the slim version as main version of this build or create a separate thing with it. Any suggestions ?
210°C / 45°C - for my purple pla here
I would recommend testing this with a Raft or Brim at least - these small lines aren´t very well in sticking to bed at all. At least for my testprints. The bars doing goo without anything.
Played around with overheating on the bed just for the first layer (thru octoprint you can adjust the temps manually on the fly - but - at least in my case - i needed cura to use the overheat as bed temp and adjust it down after the first layer to the regular temp.
Speed is also very important for sticking: I got it (the slim holder) down to stick without when using 50% as overall feedrate for the beginning. after 2 layers you can start to speed it all back up to 100%

As I need some sleep now I was only able to print the "size_test_print" to check if it fits my phone - big one will take over 3 hours - will try it tomorrow and update it here.
Update cause I cant sleep: I just did a second test piece so i got 2 of those and gave it a try:
Phone portrait oriented - those 2 small stands are pretty strong - the move like 3-4mm because of the phones weight but nowhere near to break - so the solid piece should be much stronger. It could flip over if you push it back - but I´m pretty surprized that I got a good center of gravity on it so its pretty stable.
Phone landscape oriented - works even better with just those 2 little holders on each side.
from the testing parts which i tried if they could hold my phone to this quick and dirty slim version.
You´ll need 2 of the bars and 2 of the holders - those holders are slighty different to the "size_test_print" - i just couldn´t stand weird number for the feet width.
I printed a few with different filaments - the holes are kinda "random" - maybe its the diameter of the filament which isnt even the same. So some come out quite loose - some are quite tight. But with some glue they all are working.
