This is a remix of tim_sweden's filament feeder for the 2016 edition of the FlashForge Creator Pro. It offsets the filament guide tubes so the filament unwinds more uniformly from the spools.
This remix has holes to reduce the amount of material needed for printing it, and also has tapered holes for easier insertion of the tubes and filament.

Another change is that I have provided an additional ‘withStops’ variation, which has an extra plug at the underside. This has two advantages: first, it is even easier to insert filament because of the conical hole, and second, the plug prevents the guide tubes from going all the way through the holes. This can help if you have nasty poorly wrapped filament spools that are tangled to such a degree that the extruders pull hard on the filament, and pull the tubes downwards. If that happens, the risk that the filament gets completely tangled increases.

I recommend mounting the feeder in the topmost clamps, especially if you use filament filters like on the photo. The more room the filament has to unwrap from the spools, the lower the risk of it getting tangled up.

Update 2016/10/02: I added a ‘v2’ model which has slightly thinner mounting rods and should be easier to mount into the clamps without risk of breaking. You should try this v2 model first, unless you know your printer has a habit of printing things slightly thinner than they should be, or you are printing in ABS that shrinks a lot.

I recommend to print this with 3 perimeters to ensure the mounting rods are strong enough.
A brim is highly recommended to avoid trouble with the small first layer contact surface of the holes.

How do I print this to prevent my filament getting tangled if my filament will get tangled in the hour+ it takes to print? This looks like it will solve the problem I'm having, but I don't see how to print it.

If your filament tangles that badly, it is more likely that it is already tangled on the spool, and this feeder won't help much with that. This could be because it was poorly wrapped in the factory, but it is more likely that at some point you have let the filament unwind partially from the spool, which usually results in it getting tangled. I discuss this problem and solutions here.

The mount on my printer has a shorter distance.... Why do they change that?!!

Do you have a very recent edition, or an older one? If it is one of the older ones, you should find other versions of this feeder that will fit.

It is the older version. I put it away worrying about the odor for a while. Recently restart printing cos installed a simple air tunnel to reduce the risk of ABS & acetone.

Hi DrLex,

I've printed the feeder two times and on both occasions the round part on one side broke, when I tried to insert the feeder in its holder.
How do you insert it into its holder, as the clamps are pretty strong and you need pretty much force to press it into the clamps?

You indeed need quite a bit of force to push it into the clamps, but mine has never broken despite the fact that I re-mounted it a few times. I printed mine in PLA with 3 perimeters.
I have added a new version which has slightly thinner mounting rods that should fit into the clamps more easily.
