Here's another Lego brick builder for OpenSCAD. Use it stand-alone to make bricks in odd sizes. Or import it into your own project to make your thing connect with real Lego. The 5x3 brick in the stl-file is just an example.
Supports any standard Lego length, width and height. Also makes smooth bricks without the knobs/studs.
This is my first OpenSCAD project. It was made just for fun and experimenting. Please add some useful comments.

To use this in your own projects add:

use <path_to_this_file/lego_brick_builder.scad>
brick (length, width, height [,smooth]);

Length and width are in standard lego brick dimensions.
Height is in flat brick heights, so for a normal lego brick height = 3.
Add optional smooth = true for a brick without studs.
Use height = 0 to just put studs/knobs on top of other things.

The scad file has errors. won't render

It is a library file, read the Instructions. add the file into your libraries folder then create a new scad file.

School just rented a 3d printer and it is a great tool. The support is quite hard to remove underneath, but we have a scalpel for that so it was better for us.

Hello, I wondering if the overhang faces inside the brick are a problem, without support material? Did someone try to make the inner flat shapes round so they do not overhang? The function of the brick could still be maintained.

My first make was stuffed with support material. I printed the second one (in the picture) upside down. That way there's only some support material around the knobs, which is easy to get rid off.
