Very nice design, tried to print it but it doesn't fit my display. I think I might have a newer revision with USB A connector on the display board not allowing the Pi 3B+ to fit in... I will try to remix this so it fits, but internals are quite complex to achieve that :)

What printing orientation did you use?

What material was the case 3D printed in ( in the images above)?

It was printed using plain red ABS from village plastics

Thanks you,

Just making sure I have the specifications correct:

197.0 × 114.8 × 38.5 mm ?

Yes those are the dims :)

Would it be possible to get the sorce file in a iged or sld.prt file or even a .dwg I would like to be able to mod it and it's difficult to mod a still file ithe any accuracy as it comes up as a series of faces

Sorry it took me so long to post the IGES and STP files.

Yes I can post the source files you can modify. Please check back later today

Is the spacer really needed in order for it to work?

No the spacer is not really needed. originally I designed it with screws but after printing the pi snaps into place so you don't need to screw it down.

Made one today, but it doesn't fit. The power out USB port on the display board is missing about 4mm of clearance. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or the board layout changed. I Also noticed that it was an extremely tight fit with the RB board, had to bend some part to make it fit.

Any idea on how to fit in everything nicely?

I ordered another unit to check and I found my PCB didn't have the USB connector mounted on it...the new ones do have it mounted.

I removed the unused usb connector on the latest board and it fits no problem.

I'm wondering how should this be oriented on the printer? supports? seems like LOTS of over hang in any direction. Ideas?

Nice work. I am going to do a partial flex material print. Ill let you know how it goes / post pics.

how did it go? do you have pics?
Trying to decide with this or go simple like

Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen Super Awesome Portable
7in Portable Raspberry Pi Multi-Touch Tablet

this is fantastic, wish i could get one printed, I have no access to a 3D printer at all sadly.

Design looks great, Dan. Much better than the hard cornered commercial cases.

What are hardware size and lengths for the screws needed to secure the screen into the case?
