Hi, This looks simple and awesome, what software is used to control the servos though as i really want to intergrate this into a raspberry pi

Normally this is used in an RC application so the servos are controlled through separate channels in the RC transmitter and receiver. There is no software needed in this case.

Hi Mark, fantastic build! I want to add this to my upcoming MiniTalon build, but I cant find where to buy the 0.375"ID x 0.625"OD x 0.156"L Ball Bearing w/dual shield. Where did you get yours? (I hope they ship to Singapore!). Would it be possible to use a Metric bearing? And lastly, if use the futaba servo coupler, will the ball bearing still be necessary? Thanks!

Also, you can use instead the printable coupler - "Futaba_Servo_Coupler_v2.STL" found in the thing files instead of the aluminum one, you just need to find a Futaba servo wheel.

As for the bearing, yes you could use a metric bearing but you would have to change the bearing plate and the coupler to fit it. You should be able to find this bearing anywhere in the world in any case as all US, Imperial and metric bearings are made in Japan and China.

You absolutely need the coupler, bearing and bearing plate as this is what makes it "heavy duty". If you try and use the coupler without the bearing and supporting plate, you will destroy the servo splines or gears very quickly.

I have to agree with the others, this looks awesome!! However, would it be possible to get hold of the original files for this? I want to run it in my crawler and for that I'd like to modify it and make it a bit beefier here and there :)

This is a fantastic design. Since I'm an "expert" in rough (mostly unintended) landings my pan servo's often need repairs or replacing. This will definately keep the out of harms way. Thanks man, great solution for me!

Very good design!
To make the tilt even more robust, you could print the mount flat, then bend the ears by eating it in hot water. It it not possible for all mounts, but should work well with Mobius and Misc_Camera...
