Nice work, it looks very realistic.
I just had to do a remix, because of three reasons:
-It's a modern version jerry can
-It's 1/10, so I could use it as blueprint (no measurements necessary, just keeping the same size)
-I needed a 1/10 MB Willys jeep jerry can

My remix is based on your work, keeping the same dimensions. The remix (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2461559 ) has a flat ground and is easier to print. And I added a jerry can holder, too (Mine is very detailed and lightweight, giving it a realistic look - if you prefer a heavy duty jerry can holder look at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2293988 ).

Nice holder. It looks very thin, did you keep it to multiples of 0.4mm (or whatever nozzle size you are using)?

I'll be very interested to see a print of it.

The walls of the jerry can holder are 0.6 mm. My nozzle has a diameter of 0.4 mm, extruded single walls are usually around 0.5mm - and it prints fine (a single shell). I've added pictures to my thing (the strap holder is not correctly mounted to the strap, but this way it is better to show (I don't have a jeep to glue it to yet)).
