I have mounted this piece on my Prussa i3 with j-head, but now I've changed the j-head for E3D v6 that is supported by 6 mm instead of 5 mm of the j-head may suspend a same but with basis for the E3D 6 mm v6

I have a printrboard how do i connect the servo

It is possible I don't remember how I did it exactly but you you need to add pin 37 as servo and you need a specific printrbot firmware

as for firmware

but its definitely one of these
the servo connects to e-stop
I think signal is on top

Sorry, printrboard doesn't have pings for servo.

How do I go about not leveling the z axis? I follow the instructions per the YouTube video but my printer wants to home before it does the auto leveling and then it starts the print from what it thinks the Z home is which is about 1/2 inch off of the build platform

G-code Prefix

The default g-code prefix use G28 command to do "go home". If add auto leveling, you need to fix the prefix.
Different slicer use different temperature tab. Please select correct prefix code sample.

so you mean is enought to control the servo and use the z end switch to obtain this?!?!
1 question i have a megatronics board .. where i have to connect the 3 servo leads to control it?
2 the probe switch is the z endstop correct? is it used also for normal homing? how?
3 is tha marlin software modified? if yes could you upload also the source?

  1. Sorry, I don't have a megatronics board and doesn't know where to connect to servo motor.

  2. Yes, Z endstop is used for probe the bed level. But can't use for normal homing. If you insist to have a normal homeing Z endstop, you need to add an extra endstop for your system. It's a big work.

Hi Crota, Thanks for this. Would you mind explaining the difference between v1 and v2 of the objects? I see the physical difference of the small tabs sticking out near the servo, but not sure I understand why they were needed.

The original tab is not strong enough.

When I try to slice the files, they come back as objects that are not solid! Could you upload again?

Could you please use Slic3r v1.0.0RC1 to do the slice. It would fix the module automatically. I don't want to work at the broken surface with Sketch up anymore...

Does this end switch actually replaces the original Z axis end switch?

Yes! use the same I/O port of the Z end switch.

Can this work with a budda style hot end?

I'm confused. How does a switch on a servo mounted on the X axis level the bed?

the servo mounted on the J-head holder and fixed below the extruder.

ah, ok. so it doesn't level the bed, compensates and skews the program. like edge detection on lasers.

I know this might sound a bit green of me but does the unit hanging down ever run in to the model when your printing or does it rotate out of the way after it levels the bed?

Yes, the servo should rise the switch to avoid hit something on the bed after levels the bed.
