Custom RotorRiot themed gimbal/stick protectors for FrSky X9D Taranis.
These are the first prototypes, so may need some improvement.
I have rotated it this way, that you can see them in the thingiverse preview image, but I didn't know that it will use the same orientation in cura if you download. Just rotate it to the flat side and it should print fine that way.
v01.1

Thanks for the download new to 3D printing and these files make it so easy to start printing. Really appreciate the time you have spent creating these files.
Firstly thank you for uploading this and making it available. I'm having same problem as others have stated, double will not lay flat when opened in Cura, is there a reason for this please? is it meant to be printed at a specific angle?
Hi
Tried to print the double version for my taranis xd9 plus, sliced in cura. It comes out at a strange orientation? After sorting that out it prints too small. I don’t seem to be able to scale it properly. Is this the correct file.
Many thanks.
Hi, just wanted to inform you about the following ebay listing where your design is sold without giving the attribution.
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.de/ulk/itm/302429678998
I already messaged the guy to change the listings (there are several for your design)
Is there any chance you could make a version with the bar connecting them that fit 10mm stick ends? Thanks!
Could you share the STEP file? I want to mod it so it fits aftermarket end sticks. Great design and love the double tall. Printed in TPU.
Would there be any chance of doing a version for the new Taranis SE which has slightly bigger stick ends ?
Nice job, the connected tall version is just slightly narrower than required by a Futaba 7c, but I printed one anyway. (to give away to the first taranis owner I see flying fpv.)
Please don't take this as negative critic, it is just that I really want to know what I'm doing wrong. But how do you guys print this? I have tried to slice it with simplified3d and slic3r. Neither works because the models are not manifold. I have tried to fix the model in simplified3d, meshmixer and freecad. Again, neither worked.
When I ignore the problem and try to print anyway, printer really fucks up when it gets to the top side on the ring.
How did you guys succeed?
Awesome job!
Could you possibly open up the stick holes a bit? I have aftermarket sticks that are larger than stock (3/8"). I was able to get it to fit by sliding my soldering iron through it but that print was already kinda crappy lookin so I was wanting to re-print with the correct size holes going in.
Thanks in advance!
Do you know if this will fit the Taranis qx7? I think the gimbals are the same dimensions.
Hi - Does anyone know if this Single Piece will fit the Turnigy x9 please?
Here is a X9R version:

These are really cool. Thanks! I gave you a shout out at the very end of one of my YouTube videos... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYCXGD3taT4
My onepice wont fit my taranis. Does it need to be flexible material or should pla be ok?
Thanks for this.
I immediately printed it after I saw it.
They fit nice and they come at the right moment as I took my radio with me without its case....
May need one for my Horus as well...
Nice work ! Like this design. I customized for my Spektrum DX6 :) http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1874265

Amazing Design, already printed one but it doesnt fit the 9XR Pro :(
Could you customize and upload one for the 9XR too?
They look great. I kind of like them to come to the top of the stick to reduce the stress of the stick pressing into the radio. Nice job.
I'm with @Qrome on this. If they were taller then they will actually protect the gimbal from stress by making it nary impossible to push the sticks. Very cool design and nod to RR for being awesome. I am deployed and a friend has a 3D printer so I was hoping to try these out. How much taller should they be to fully cover the sticks?
