This model is derived from a 123D Catch scan of a resin creature we found at a garage sale several years ago. This was about 13" from head to tail. I can find no artist or manufacturer markings on the original object, to credit them.

The 123D Catch result was really clean. I did touch it up somewhat in MeshMixer.

The Rooster in the photos was printed at 0.2 layer height. I did use the full support setting. There are a lot of undercuts.

The bottom surface is not flat. I can't get good plate adhesion.

I feel like this has a fairly good chance of printing without supports. Gonna have to try, seeing as Chinese new year is right around the corner.

In my opinion the best rooster, or chicken, on Thingiverse. Been looking for one with actual carved feather texturing and semi-realistic features, rather than all these balls with beaks on them by kids. Anyways, thanks for scanning it in!
