Simple spherical christmas tree ornament.
Choose size, number of "ribbons" and choose to have one helix or two running in different directions.


Should print without support and the small flat base should be sufficient to get good adhesion to the bed.

At least with PLA it is best to print two or more at once so that, especially for the top ring, there is more time for the PLA to cool down.

The thing pushes overhangs quite far to the limit, but with low temperatures (I had 190°C) it should work.

I printed with 1 shell and 25% infill, but there almost is nothing solid.

Tried customizing in OpenSCAD, but each time I rendered it only produced the hanging loop and the bottom plate. I also tried using Customizer, but the options would not load.

i tried this on the maker bot2 3d printer and it did not look as good as that sadly.

I would like to modify your design, but I havent been able to make it looks as good as yours. Could you please let me know which program you use to make the model and the commands used_I'm trying rhino. I ll let you know the my final product. thanks

Theoretically yes, a bit. But increasing the slices for OpenSCAD linear extrusion easily leads to non-simple objects that are unprintable.
