I remixed my Gramps character into The Elf aka Little Helper Christmas Ornament!

Attach a hanging string or wire and put him in a special spot on your tree!

I reduced the size before printed so if you want a smaller size, just scale him down. I scaled him and printed him at 3 inches tall. Full size, he is 5 inches tall. Up the resolution also for a nicer print.

used no supports for my print. I received very little droop using a solidoodle press. Very nice fairly quick build. I plan to paint mine and might post a picture.

Hi christinachun,

I have made a special version of this to use as my print model on 'All Things 3D' today at 1:00 p.m. https://plus.google.com/events/c95gbqvlu0e6phspvf0mhb8o0bs , I call him "Mikey the 3D Elf"

Thank you and happy holidays.

I put my version of your model with my modifications on SketchFab: https://skfb.ly/C9qY. I also painted it and placed it on a tree in this is image: https://plus.google.com/106794317316203648831/posts/NRviQuxyuFG

You original model's link is added to all my posts and the podcasts/Youtube videos as well.

Does this print without supports? I've found printing models like this with supports are too hard to clean up afterwords....

I am not entirely sure. I've seen people generate supports in Meshmixer and that seems to work great for custom support. You could probably get away with none. I've printed these hollow on my Afinia/UP! with very little support for small overhangs but not all print software is created equal.

Oh, I wish thingiverse wouldn't convert files uploaded with inches as scale.. this thing is 4mm tall when I just open the file in Cura.. it's happening more and more.. Looks very nice though - I should try and print an upscaled version.

that all depends on what the slicing or program it was created in was using. If you set your printer to MM for prefernce in your slicer it should convert it just fine.

The fixed version should be correct :(

I can not get the model manifold. Any suggestions? Using slic3r and repitier host.

I've uploaded the fixed file. Hope you can print him now! Can't wait to see him :)

I'll run him through Netfabb.
