Designed to be printed at 0.2mm layer height.

This is a custom DarkDragonWing Dual Over Head Cam V8 Engine with a butterfly style intake supercharger. It is a 1/8 scale. Most of the parts are working and moving like a real engine.

do you need the airfilter? and im confused on the motor, do i use 2 servos or a motor and servo... in the renderings it was a motor but in the description its a servo

I suggest you watch the video. haha It will make more sense. https://youtu.be/pg-M-11hGq4 You don't really need the air filter, but then you can't use the motor around dirt.

You would need a regular 1/10 RC car.

I have tinkercad,freecad and cura.i am using always tinkercad so I am downloading your files and importing it on tinkercad should I adjust the size or just import it and print it

1.how did you paint the intake butterfly like as:
red and the rod chrome.
2.which is best to use for controlling the v8 engine:
1.the servo tester.
2.the transmitter and reciever

  1. Paint it all in red, cover the red parts with tape, and then paint the shaft with chrome.
  2. Transmitter and receiver set is best.

It depends on your computer. I would say go with Windows 64 bits.

I can't get the belts to stay on because there is not sidewall on the pullys. Any suggestions?

Can the side walls of the pullie be taller?

Use bicycle inner tube instead.

Hi. Office rubberbands should work as small belts. You can try things out.

The belts with out theeth are fit better. But i have the problem that the servo motor dont run with the belts mount. Looks like the servo motor is too weak. I use the MG995 servo. With out the belts the servomotor run. How tide are the bycicle belts? Is the MG996r motor stronger?

I see. Bicycle inner tubes are much more flexible, so you might want to try those out. Also, don't adjust the supercharger belt too tight, it will run easier that way. There in no difference in power between MG995 and MG996r.

Hey Mackey, I have already started gathering the required parts. I am really looking forward to this build!
I will have the engine printed completely in ABS and the belts printed with ninjaflex.
But there is one think I'm wondering:
Is the generated airflow hard enough to put "streams" out of the exhausts?
If so - why not try to build a smoke-generator from an e-cigarette... into the engine as well.
I mean - that would be awesome ;)

I got the belts uploaded, let me know how well they work with Filaflex. I don't have any flexible material to test them with at the moment.

Hi im Print the belt and put one Picture in Make. Can you edit the all the Cam Shaft and other rolls with theets?
You have for the bicycle rubber belt in the middle a Ring on this rolls. With the Filaflex Belt Looks like the Belt slide on this rolls with the ring over the theeth. when u remove this ring then the theeth can go theeth on theeth and have better grip.

Does the teeth belt work with the current gears (with ring)?

Here is what I will do:

  1. Upload new gears without the ring.
  2. In case new gears without the ring don't work, I will also include the belts without teeth for you to test.

I have now all the hardware to build to engine.
the belts with theets dont work there are too Long and too thick, thats make them not so much flexible.
The Alternator belt work. For Powersteering is too short it should be approx 4mm longer.
I broke the DKDGWi_RC_DOHCV8E_Cam_Shaft_Driver.stl can you re do it for an steel shaft version?
next i try the Belts with out the theets but first i have to put in a new Cam Shaft Driver gear.

Thanks they look great. I have a spool Fileflex here :)
but it takes some weeks till i get the Hardware (screw,servos) to put the engine together. I will write here when i have all together and post some Pictures.

This engine is Amazing! I love your builds, and am a fan of your channel for a while. My printer has failed on the Block twice now, What were your print settings for it? I'm printing it in PLA. Thanks for the share, I can't wait to get this thing built, and add a sound pack to my electric converted HPI MT2.
