I remixed these files to make a handy lid for a dog food can. My brother's girlfriend would reuse the same old aluminum foil to cover it, and he said she would never buy a lid in the store even for just a few dollars. Now that she has this, she always uses it. And it cost less than a dollar in material.

Would this fit if printed with PLA or PETG? I don't have TPU and wondered if PLA or PETG would be too ridgid. Guess I'll try it and report back.

I can report this does not work with PETG. The cap is too small and does not have enough flex to cover a standard size food can.

Thanks for trying and reporting back!

Do you think it might work if you scaled the X and Y dimensions up like 1 or 2 percent?

Yes I'm sure it would work. Running low on filament so didn't want to waste it trying different scales.

Any chance you got around to trying a different scale? I want to print this in PETG.

No I didn't bother. I ended up printing it with TPU and it worked fine.

Ok, I guess I'll try several sizes and see what holds. Thanks!
