NOTE: Received word on the forums that the power supply plug and jumper header are different for different versions of the board. This set of files are built to work with the 1.4 rev of the board. Once I get some more details I will update the STL files to accomodate all versions. Thanks!

This is a printable case for your LimeSDR from MyraidRF ( https://www.crowdsupply.com/lime-micro/limesdr ) The case contains four SMA antenna ports and holes for USB and external power interfaces. The LED indicator lights are covered but show through the plastic. Vent holes provided to help keep the FPGA cool. The TX/RX and channel number indicators are indented but not cut through: this allows the user to drip a little paint in there and color the text if desired. The layer is thin (0.4mm) and can be cut away if desired.

This should be pretty easy to print. Use support for lid.


Cleanup and Assembly

Carefully remove excess plastic from the vents (somewhat fragile) and SMA ports (somewhat less fragile). The SMA ports don't need to be perfectly clean, just enough to fit the connector through. Before screwing the PCB into the case I would run the M3 screws through without the PCB to ensure proper alignment. Then, insert screws into base and through board (carefully) and visually inspect. SMA wires can tangle: I wrapped them into a loose loop and used electrical tape to secure.

How I Designed This


I used Fusion 360. I was fortunate to get a pre-release board to review and was able to design and fit the case to the actual product.

I have printed this case however noticed the same issue with the misalignment with my LimeSDR v1.4s. Nothing major that can`t be fixed using a sharp knife :)

Another note is that the 2 rows of SMA-F panel connectors are very close and they make a very tight almost impossible fit.

I'm still waiting for my 1.4 from CrowdSupply so until I get it the best I can do is make tweaks based on people who have theirs... if you have specific dimensions I'd be happy to modify!

Any chance of getting the source files for these parts, would like to try and make a variant of the lid with holes for the full 10 SMA connectors and hopefully design it so that it doesn't need support.

I think .f3d should keep the most data? I've used Fusion 360 a bit so that should work.

I see a little problem with the lower part of the case. The USB-A connector is at the same height as the PCB but the screw holders for the PCB are a bit deeper than the outer edge of the case. This means the pcb couldn't fit on the screw holders and stand up a bit at the edge. I think there need to be a little clearance for the usb connector at the edge of the lower case part. I see the problem with my limeSDR v1.4s.

It is at the same height as the top of the PCB. The screw depth puts the top of the PCB flush with the bottom of the print. I'll look closer at home by my 1.4 fit well - if you have pictures that would be helpful. maybe the PCB changed from the pre-release version I got.
