I decided i was sick of carrying around loose 3ds cartridges in the drawstring bag I got from club nintendo a while before it was shut down. Here's my solution. It's very similar to a ds game case I had when the DSlite was current. This case has 12 slots and 2 extra stylus holders.

The hinges are designed to use 3mm filament as hinge pins.

The top needs to be a little larger to clamp. The games on the bottom go in upside down should be flipped.

Ah, good catch! I'll make changes to accomodate that, Did you make one? If so I would love to see photos of it.

Yes! here is an imgur album! http://imgur.com/a/JvTJN

Games fit great and snap into the slots!

one more thing, the clamp is a little off and should be centered.

Looks pretty great! Is it reasonably easy to get the cartridges out, even with multiple cartridges in the case? Does the case manage to shut fully? I didn't see any photos that showed if it closes flush and completely. I'll get to fixing the cartridge slots and modeling a new clasp, I have an idea that should work better hopefully.

The stylus that I designed the stylus slot for can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:449555

3DS Stylus

can't wait for the updated model :)

It prints good, but the groves need to be deeper to make it easier to get the cartridge out. Also the snap and button that keep it shut do not align up, they are not centered. The snap is on the flat surface and should be out further and the button in further that would allow it to close flush and snap together. The snap could also have a slight angle to allow it to get started going over the button. I will print another if you can make changes.

edit: heres photos of it closed
