the top part will not load into my cura

This printed easily. I did them in several colors of filament to mix-and-match the bows and boxes. I also printed the gift card box (and bow) scaled up to 120% to allow for the gift card folder they often come with.

Thanks for the great design.

Printed a shed full (UK expression) ready for Christmas gifts. Lovely design no problem printing using PLA and Cura res.0.2 infill 15%. with Creality CR7 and CR8 printers, highly recommended, CR7 self assembly and straight forward easy to follow on screen instructions. Regards - John

awesome. glad it worked for you!

Approximately how long would this take to print?

That would vary greatly depending on print speed, layer resolution, wall thickness, infill and many other settings.

It would be great to get the source/customizable files for this. I tried to scale up the box, but unfortunately it scales the wall thickness as well.

I love the boxes, and would love to print several of these for "wrapping paper" for some presents.

No idea how to use openscad to be able to do it. If you want the original SW file to do it message me.

It's very nice. BTW I cannot close it. It's because I've printed it with PLA? I've got the same issue with another box as well. I could make the TOP a little bigger, but would like to understand why it's happening to me....
Ideas?
Printed with Prusa MK2 at 0.2mm resolution. Thanks!

No idea. 3d printers are just a bit sloppy by nature. It was designed to be a little bit of a tight fit when closed. Maybe you can sand it a little. That or scale one side by a percent or two.

Are you using PLA or ABS or whatever? I'm having the same issue with another christmas box as well: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:191974
I've used always same PLA and same color. I don't know if it's a matter of PLA (generally) or an issue of this kind of PLA (BQ) or problem of the printer :-(

Lockable Present Ornament

I'm using abs.

ok, ty ;)

Hi, guys. I made a parameterized version of this.. It's not a direct copy, I just sort of eyed it and built it in a similar fashion. If you want a size that muddtt doesn't have, check out http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:208221http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Awesome work, muddtt!

***UPDATED: Added GC_Top & GC_Bottom to fit a gift card.

Great idea! Printing it now. I knew I should have ordered some red and green filament!

I purchased a roll from Octave that had red/green/blue. Made it easy.

Bonus points for domo! :[]

He needs to lose some weight so he'll fit!
