Print Thing TagSummary
I had the heated bed mounted to my printer MacGyver style, using clamps to mount the bed to the frame and bulldog clips to hold the glass to the bed. See the photo's. It made the printer look cheap, and I could not wire up the heated bed because its connections were clamped to the printer frame. These adapters solve all the problems above. With these adapters, you can wire up the heated bed, and the printer instantaneously looks 500€ more expensive. Especially when you also print the Kossel XL 2020 corner dust covers :-)
Post-Printing
The parts you need
- 3x heated bed adapter (one with space for the wires)
- 3x heated bed adapter cap
- Kossel XL
- Round heated bed with ears for Delta Rostock / Reprap Ø 265 mm
- Glass plate Ø 260 mm
- 6x M3, 8 mm screws
- 6x M3 nut
- 12x M4, 12 mm countersunk screws
- 6x M4 nut
- 6x M4 (hammer) T-nut
Build instructions
Solder a thermistor to the heated bed and fixate it with kapton tape. Wire up the heated bed and thermistor to the electronics of your printer.
Place the M3 and M4 nuts in the adapters. Mount the heated bed to the adapters using the M3 bolts. Mount the heated bed with the adapters to the printer frame using the M4 bolts and (hammer) T-nuts. Mount the glass plate using the adapter caps and M4 nuts.
Note: the pile of parts in the last photo were created during the prototyping process.
If you only use the heated bed for PLA (recommend bed temperature 20-35C) you could use PLA, otherwise I recommend using PETG or ABS for the adapters.
Usage
Calibrate you printer before usage! Remember that your bed is lifted around 5 mm.

Помогите пожалуйста! Все напечатал как у Вас, стол лег идеально, а вот верх мал оказался. Хотя отверстия все совпадают. Стекло 260 на 3 мм. Если распечатать основание и положить с верху, оно держит но не красиво ;-(
The diameter of my glass plate is 260 mm. Yours must be 265 mm like the heated bed. I have uploaded the file 265_mm_heated_bed_adapter_cap.stl for you. The file for the 260 mm bed is renamed to 260_mm_heated_bed_adapter_cap.stl. Let me know if this works for you, and please share some photos of your print (I Made One) when it fits! Where did you buy you glass plate?

Hello, this is a very nice design, I was wondering if you used any kind of insulation under the heated bed for protecting the electronics ?
