I have an old Jeep Wrangler which also has a viper alarm/remote start installed. The key fob for the remote start broke off of my keyring a while ago and I always misplace it. Today decided to design and print a snug holder for the key fob and it turned out pretty good on my first try.

I actually came up with a pretty handy way to design the case to fit the curves of the remote without having to do a lot of measuring. I'm detailing my design process from beginning to end and are published on my blog here http://bencbond.com/2016/12/3d-printed-viper-remote-start-key-fob-holder/

This is for the viper model: RPN 7142V

This is a pretty simple piece and am sure the settings can be changed some to speed up the print.

Did you fix this yet? The arms aren't even attached to the part. This is the 5th one I tried and they break right out of the printer

How did you print this? The legs keep snapping off

What type of filament are you printing this in? I used PLA/PHA and everything held together good without any issue. I'll upload an updated version with more support for more bridal filaments this week.

PLA. The issue is it's not a solid object. Both cura and S3D will print it... but under the legs is a hollow spot and they just snap right off. Tried twice. Appreciate the update.

Thank god this exists. Thank you!

Thanks, yep I thought about it but was like hey I have a printer here and the little amount of filament this piece required cuts the cost down to a few cents haha.
