I could use a plastic egg too! I teach tech to grade 7s. They do an egg drop challenge all with identical materials. It's an exercise on crumple zones. How do you print the model ? Wouldn't supports ruin the smooth surface ?

I don't think it would work well. What I'd do is split it into two halves, print the halves, and then glue them together. If your printer has a borosilicate glass surface, the two halves of the egg will meet perfectly (and the glue will hold really well).

why'd you make an egg?

Christmas! Just kidding. I'm helping organize an egg drop with internal IMU so kids can gather data about the rates of deceleration (i.e. impact with concrete) that their eggs underwent.
