What about 18-135 Canon kit?

Thank you Rickxu,

I don't own the 18-135mm lens, but you could try to simply hold the lens in-front of the camera to find out about it's focal point.
Make sure to find a distance where both 18 and 135mm work.
With the provided length the focus adjusting of the lens is not turning far enough for 18mm, I forgot to check and only made sure that 55mm worked.
Most CCTV kits come with a C/CS Mount adapter ring so you may be able to elongate it a bit.

As for astronomy use:
At 135mm the zoom lens has f/5.6, and depending on the exposure tracking might be necessary (DIY Barndoor / https://thingiverse.com/tag:barndoor_mounthttps://thingiverse.com/tag:ba... , or a (EQ) tracking/GoTo Mount).
The 76/300 & 76/350 table dobsonians and 70/400 refractors are available for 20-50gbp and might be (despite the mediocre quality) a cheap solution to take images of smaller DSO and even planets (with barlow).
