Tip : I put assembled chain 20 minutes on hotbed (60°C) to remove all friction !

I measured the crossbar under the hotbed and it's 30mm and the opening in the hotbed mount is 34mm.

Hi, my Crossbar is also 30mm. but if you see the picture you can see how it is mounted and then locked with two screws at the end :-)
best regards

I seem to have a 4mm gap when I install the hotbed mount. Is that normal?

Why is the chain on the right side of the printer?
The length of the wires is longer.

I made it on the right side so there is less chance for the wires to get tangled up in the stepper motor.

I tried printing it and was looking great.
However after some reading I found that some people suggest putting the hotbed mounting reversed (upside down) to reduce stress on the belt. With this configuration I encountered a small problem. It does not clear the frame of the printer (bottom support frame).

Hi, I have read about that to. but there are mounts for the belt that fits the height of the hotbed mounting when it is not reverse.
I have been using these (V2) http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2008158 on my printer, but there are many different designs. :-)

anyone elses make a bunch of noise when the bed is moving? should i have sanded this down or something?

I used about 1hour where I just moved (exercised) the chain. and I can't hear mine. :-)

I hope it doesn't interfere with this http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1857991 as I just installed it the other day.

Anet A8 Front Frame Brace

I think it will have problems with it, it looks long.

That's what she said.

Printing this now. How many links do I need to print?

I am using 14 links :-)

Unfortunately, after printing it I couldn't put it on my 3D printer due to the incompatibility with this particular upgrade http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1430727.

the chain hits the front structure every time the hot bed moves it to the front.
Anyway, the design is good and can be very useful for others.

Thanks for information :-)

I will put it in the note.

Mmmmm... Interesting idea. I think I am going to print it and I will let you know how it works.
Thanks for the job ;)

This is a really good idea!!
The only issue I can think of, is that being so close to the heatbed, printing it in PLA is not good :)

I have printed in PLA, but I will also add heat isolation on the bed tomorrow. (cork plate)
