This is really well made. You wouldn't consider making an interchangeable part for the base so that it could be hand held or wall mounted would you? I don't trust my skills with fusion 360 in order to do it myself... it would be fun to have both ways.

I had never thought of that... cool idea. Would be interesting to have one you can walk around with or indeed place upright on a table. I made another base piece (4 blocks tall) that you can print upright. Let me know how it goes!

I m downloading today. I will test it this week. I am really angry with my printer today though. It has a failure rate of 75%-80% on this... but I think it is because I resized it. It is also my roll of filament. These things are so temperamental. I've known feral cats easier to get along with. The first part was the vibration from the printer caused the part to shift at the base and fail... then the filament was wound so tightly on the spool it kept snapping instead of unrolling. I'm going to get another spool and try again... i will not be beaten by rigid plastic string! Thanks for the update, I think this design is the best one.

How bright are these? Are they bright enough to be used as the only light source in the room?

I'd use that with a led tealight.

Found solution! A friend detected several grid failures in base.stl
Look here for fixed Version:

Minecraft Torch Nightlight bugsfixed

Hello,
I have problems with "base.stl" with slic3r. The files looks like failures which are not fixed by autorepair.
Can you please check this?? regards schuerni

Cheers for the heads-up... I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned sooner. The "bottom ledge" was added after I actually printed mine and it appears I missed the fact sketchup added three extra hidden faces making the model non-manifold. I've updated the file.
